Hello Everyone!

It always seems to me that, no sooner are the Holidays over, than suddenly it's March! January and February fly by, and I only catch up with myself when spring is just around the corner. For many of you it can't come quickly enough, I know—the weather has been hard on everyone this year, it seems—on both sides of the Atlantic and across the globe.

My first piece of news is that the paperback edition of LEAVING EVERYTHING MOST LOVED will be published in the USA and Canada on April 8th—for readers in the UK and across the Commonwealth, it was published in January, so you're a jump ahead!

I had many emails and letters following initial publication of LEAVING EVERYTHING MOST LOVED last year—it seems there was widespread concern that the series had come to an end, and that you would hear no more of Maisie Dobbs. Well, fear not! Maisie Dobbs returns in a new series in the spring of 2015, but in the meantime I am very, very excited to tell you more about what's in store for you this summer ...

THE CARE AND MANAGEMENT OF LIES is the novel I have wanted to write for more years than I care to mention—it has been in my head and my heart since I was in my twenties, long before I became a published author. It is a story set in the opening months of the Great War, and will be published in July of this year—and as most of you know, this summer heralds the 100th anniversary of the outset of that terrible war.

I'll be telling you more about the novel over the coming months—but suffice it to say, publication of THE CARE AND MANAGEMENT OF LIES represents something of a dream come true for me. When the story first began to seed and grow in my mind I never imagined that I would ever be a published author, and now I have the opportunity to share the story with you, of four young people caught up in a war no one could imagine in the spring of 1914, and how they sustain love, courage and loyalty amid so much heartache.
